Blue skies..

Thigh highs (and melon)

..and I can't rhyme anything else.
Dramatic sighs.
HA! I had one more in me!

This Monday is CRAZY.
Michael had to be out the door at 4 am, and it went downhill from there!
Just a crazy, backwards, WTH kind of day...nothing serious, though.

Pig is trying to move in.

I heard this god awful banging from inside the utility closet where the hot water tank is...
Crack open the door (thinking there's a monster in there) and Pig is staring at me. I have NO IDEA how in hell she got in!?!?
I need Michael's help to keep Pig away from me while I stuff myself in the crawl space under the house and see how in hell she got in.  I can't see any access point from inside the closet..just the tiny opening where the water lines run.
Don't believe me?

  1. First of all, your photos are AMAZING! I love them all but am partial to the one of the moon...such lovely contrast. And the ones of Pig? I feel like I'm reading a magazine!

As far as her moving in...who can blame her? She knows a good thing when she has it. :)

  3. I don't agree with "if you feed them, they will come"...been feeding the deer for 9 years and I haven't had one in the house yet. ;)

The dogs don't have free access to the room where the closet is..it's where the litter box and cat food are located.

  7. Your photos are great! I think Pig is living up to her name! She feels at home with you and is looking for a warm spot for winter... for her & her babies, heehee!

  8. Is she now feasting on kitty food, as well as what you've been giving her? As much as I've enjoyed the Pig stories and pictures, I really think that whoever domesticated her did a lot of harm. She's lucky she found her way to your yard.

  9. I couldn't agree more. It's a pain in the ass managing the dogs outside, and now this!
She's never been encouraged to come close to the house (I chase her, loudly and with much arm flapping). She was even blasted with the hose last year..several times.

I don't believe in domesticating wild animals...and this is why!

  10. This cracks me up. As portly as she is getting, she sure didn't squeeze through any cracks. Has she got a transporter hidden around someplace?

I think you're entirely right about not domesticating wild animals, says she who is trying to tame her chipmunks, sigh. They come in the house, they're going to be kitty appetizer.

  15. omg....that is too funny...she really does think you're her mama.....i bet she'd live just fine indoors and you could probably teach her to use a litter box :)

  17. That is hysterical! This post was going along so peacefully right until the hog in the closet. Who can blame her. She is always eating the best looking stuff (well, except when she had her head buried in beans) and I am sure it is real nice inside your house. =D

  18. Man...outstanding pics! That one of it in the utility closet is priceless!

The Whistlepig is my favorite of the most-loathed species of wild animal (well....one of my favorites). :)

  19. That Groundhog looks HUGE!

Ties, pies, flies, cries, bries (maybe not bries - just made that up)

Thought I'd stumbled onto the wrong website when I read about 'thigh high's and melons'! LOL (V. rude)

  21. love those puffy clouds...and the daytime moon.
if those watermelons get a lot bigger...you might have to go with QUEEN size...

as usual...pig looks content...always eating. and what about the one in the closet...he's wedged himself in there good...hopefully he's able to back out of there...on his own!!
